DOORS WIDE OPEN

We have finally been receiving small groups of guests since October began! Our biggest group being our cell group made up of mainly couples who are around our age. With a few families who have kids Mya’s age, much to her delight.

As we mentioned in September’s post, we have been experiencing how God has thrown open the floodgates of heaven such that we have so much to thank Him for really. This continues to be true even today when an ex-colleague now good friend told me she has heaps of clothing for me. She even assured me she would sort those that are breast-feeding friendly, so I won’t have to buy a thing! This month as well, Mya received the best Children’s day gift in the form of a huge bag of books given by the owner of the @flipforjoybookstore who also happens to be a believer! Brand new Chinese books carefully curated for her, totally appealing to her love for food and nature. It’s amazing how the Lord provides so specifically and so timely.

October has been a good month thus far. I (Amy) have witnessed significant improvement in Nathan’s condition. There seems to be no more breathlessness or exhaustion associated with feedings. His growth is stable and he seems to be gaining weight steadily. The three-month check up at the polyclinic will give us a clearer picture, but we are still very pleased with his well-being.
And so, we have been more open to having visitors who have been coming fairly regularly. We see about 2 to 3 groups a week. Friends coming over with warm meals, young people coming over to play with Mya and others still just to sit and talk with us. We are pleased that the doors to our home is once again open and we look forward to a good report in November when we see the cardiologist.

Please pray for:

Amy whose younger brother (John) is getting married end November. For a good time of preparation and also precious family time to spend together.

Jonathan whose school term is coming to an end for the year. Pray he will cope with piling deadlines as well as his Hebrew exam on the 8th of November.

Mya is doing very well as an older sister, yet her night sleep does get disturbed if he cries for too loud or too long. Pray God will guard her rest at nights and keep her healthy for school. Pray also for alternative swimming lessons as the one in her school has stopped abruptly.

Nathan’s three-month check up and immunisation on the 29th of Oct and his cardiologist review on the 1st of Nov. Pray for a good review and a positive diagnosis. We would like for the doctor to tell us there will be no need for an operation.

Thank for your journeying with us,
Jonathan, Amy and the children, Mya and Nathan
